Musalaha Core Funding: June / July 2020
This is an emergency funding request designed to sustain Musalaha’s core Palestinian team during a period of unprecedented global crisis. As projects remain frozen due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation faces significant financial paralysis that threatens its ability to maintain essential operations. This proposal seeks to secure salaries and administrative support for three key staff members for the months of June and July, ensuring that the foundational expertise and local presence of the team are preserved for when active reconciliation programming can safely resume.
This request follows a period of successful collaboration where earlier emergency support allowed the team to navigate the initial months of the pandemic. While many international partners were unable to redirect designated program funds toward core costs, the solidarity shown by Musalaha UK has been vital in keeping the organisation’s mission alive during this challenging time. The funding requested is dedicated solely to maintaining the human infrastructure necessary to support Musalaha’s long-term vision of reconciliation and conflict transformation in the region.
By supporting these staff members, donors contribute to the resilience of a team that has spent over 30 years facilitating dialogue and building bridges between Israelis, Palestinians, and diverse community groups. Even as face-to-face activities are paused, the core staff continues to manage the organisational framework and partner relationships that make future reconciliation work possible. This targeted support ensures that when the "Six Stages of Reconciliation" curriculum can once again be taught in person, the leadership and expertise required to guide participants through the process will be ready and available.
