Women and Young Adult’s Train the Trainer: 2020

The Train the Trainer initiative is a strategic response to the pressing need for skilled facilitators capable of leading reconciliation efforts within their own communities. By gathering sixty selected Israeli-Jewish and Palestinian women and young adults, this project provides intensive training in reconciliation materials, leadership skills, and practical lesson delivery based on Musalaha’s established 22-chapter curriculum. Participants are required to study core chapters on listening, identity, and conflict before presenting their own teaching sessions during the certification weekend.

This training model is designed to maximise impact and sustainability, as every participant is tasked with teaching reconciliation principles to an additional thirty individuals in their local areas. This ripple effect allows the project to reach an estimated 1,800 indirect beneficiaries, making it a highly cost-effective method for spreading the message of peace beyond Musalaha’s immediate circles. By equipping individuals from diverse faith backgrounds to teach reconciliation through biblical principles, the program fosters healthy relationships characterised by compassion and understanding toward neighbours.

Despite the challenges posed by shifting health regulations, Musalaha remains committed to the safety of all participants through strict adherence to social distancing, mask mandates, and sanitization protocols. In the event of movement restrictions, the program is prepared to transition to a digital format to ensure that the vital work of developing new leaders for peace continues uninterrupted. This certification process ultimately empowers twenty new trainers to bring reconciliation theory to life, addressing the critical shortage of leaders prepared to guide their societies toward a shared future.
